Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

Information you give us

• Waitlist: your email address and which signup form you used.
• Account: your name, email address and login details when you create an account.
• Your content: the video and audio files you upload, the edits you make, text overlays, exported videos and the messages you send to the assistant.
• Support: anything you send us by email.

Information created when you use the product

• Transcripts and descriptions: to make footage searchable and editable, we create a word-level transcript of speech in your clips and written descriptions of sampled video frames.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and server logs needed to run and secure the service.
• Cookies: we use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, for example to keep you signed in and to remember your light or dark theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Payment information

Payments are handled by Paddle (see section 4). We never receive or store your full card number. Paddle shares with us the details we need to manage your subscription, such as your name, email, country, plan and payment status.

2. How we use your data

• To provide the service: store your projects, transcribe and describe your footage, run the editing assistant and render exports (performance of our contract with you).
• To manage subscriptions, billing and account access (contract).
• To email you about the waitlist and your invite, and send service messages such as billing or security notices (consent for the waitlist; contract for service messages).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your uploaded videos to train our own or anyone else’s AI models.

3. AI processing

Speech transcription runs on our own servers. To describe what is on screen and to power the editing assistant, sampled frames from your clips, their transcripts and your chat messages are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic processes this data to return results to us and, under its commercial terms, does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models. AI output can be inaccurate, so please review edits before you publish them.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Super Editor, under contracts that limit their use of it:

• Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates), our reseller and merchant of record, which processes payments, tax and invoicing. Paddle’s own privacy notice applies to the data you give it at checkout.
• Anthropic, which provides the AI model described in section 3.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, which store your files and run our servers.
• Email providers, which deliver waitlist and account emails.

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or ourselves.

5. International transfers

We are based in India, and our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep data

• Waitlist emails: until you get access, unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• Projects and uploads: for as long as your account is active, or until you delete them. Deleted content is removed from our servers within 30 days.
• Account data: deleted within 30 days of closing your account.
• Billing records: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Server logs: kept for up to 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in India, you also have the rights of a data principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to nominate someone to exercise your rights. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct their information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. To make a request, email support@supereditor.app. We will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. For grievances, contact our grievance officer, Akbar Ali, at support@supereditor.app; users in India may escalate unresolved complaints to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.

9. Children

Super Editor is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
